Lisa Hiebert is best known for her portraits in pencil, pastel and acrylic. She has a photo realistic style and is influenced by her interest in facial anatomy and color theory, but mainly by her love of working with her clients to develop a piece that they will cherish for a lifetime. Her schooling includes a BA in Illustration at Cal State University Fullerton with a year abroad in Florence, Italy, attending the Scuola di Bella Arte. With a focus on portraiture, she furthered her education with classes at the Watts Atelier in Encinitas, The LA Academy of Figurative Art, and studied Composite Sketching with Stuart Parks Forensic Classes along side police officers from all over the USA.
Teaching classes at the Irvine Fine Arts Center for over 11 years and at Regent's point retirement center for 5 years was a wonderful community experience. While teaching, Lisa worked for Disney creating portraits and caricatures in pastel and watercolor before working for Trader Joe's in Tustin for over 9 years. At Trader Joe's, she mainly created large chalk pastel boards advertising products for the company in whimsical and eye-catching ways. Lisa also freelanced all the while for various clients, including composite sketching, Illustrations, and painting murals for clients from LA, to Lido Island in California. Now in El Paso, she works from her home creating mainly portraits and is currently working on gallery pieces. .
